Iona Heritage Centre, Isle of Iona
The Iona Heritage Centre is housed in the old Manse, just next to the Parish Church and only 5 minutes’ walk from the jetty. Here you’ll find fascinating displays on crofting, fishing, schooling, historical events and famous visitors during Iona’s recent history, as well as an impressive section on the geology of the area. The Heritage Centre offers light refreshments throughout the day and visitors can enjoy these either inside or outside in the peaceful garden.

Mull Museum, Tobermory, Isle of Mull
The history of Mull is captured in this small museum, full of fascinating information and artefacts. Situated on Tobermory’s colourful waterfront, this museum covers the earliest evidence of human settlement on Mull up to the recent past. Staffed entirely by volunteers, entry is free although donations are welcomed. Open Easter – end October (check for details.)
Ross of Mull Historical Centre, Bunessan, Isle of Mull
Recently renovated, the picturesque, white-washed mill cottage at Bunessan houses a comprehensive collection of material relating to the history of this area of Mull. The Centre has evolved from the grass roots interest of local people wishing to explore their own past and its relation to their present identity. Informal and welcoming, this is a lovely place to delve into the often-forgotten story of everyday life on Mull. Much hard work has gone into creating the Centre, it now offers an exciting resource for locals and visitors alike. A research service is offered to anyone investigating their family history.
