Who We Are - Chris and Janice Hall
Committed to offering the highest standards of hospitality, Chris and Janice bought Staffa House in September 2017, and are now firmly established Bed and Breakfast hosts.
An experienced chef, Chris has held many diverse roles in London and abroad before establishing his own restaurant in Kent. There he gained 3 AA Rosettes and expanded from 25 seats to 60 seats. A passionate gardener, Chris is often found outside, planning, planting and tending to his vegetable bed.
Janice enjoys looking after guests - from house-keeping to bookings, you’ll often find her in the guest area or in the office. Happy to stop and chat, Janice studied at the School of Scottish Studies, University of Edinburgh, meaning she can help you understand some of Scotland’s history, traditions and customs. She hopes that you’ll quiz her as answering questions is a great way to expand her own knowledge of Mull and Iona.
Where we are
Situated at the end of the Ross of Mull in Fionnphort and only a 5 minute walk from the ferry to Iona, Staffa House provides a peaceful environment with spacious, comfortable guest rooms and excellent food. Built in 1923 by a local stone-mason, it is a substantial building with a turreted porch. Our red gate is complimented by turquoise edging – a unique look in this part of the world but fitting for such an imposing house.
