Welcome to Staffa House
Our beautiful Hebridean home with comfortable guest rooms and excellent food
2020 and Covid 19
We have decided to close Staffa House for the remainder of 2020. This has been a difficult decision to reach but having taken on board the range of information available to us, it was clear that we could not offer the warm welcome and hospitality that we wish our guests to enjoy; Government guidance is challenging to implement in essentially what is your own home.
We are looking forward to normal operations in 2021, and are happy to discuss bookings and other requirements for next year when, with safety still very much in mind, we hope to be able to offer a full range of services and our warmest welcome.
Situated on the Ross of Mull in Fionnphort, Staffa House Bed and Breakfast is only a 5 minute walk from the ferry to Iona. We are ideally placed for visiting the Isles of Iona and Staffa. Learning about the role of St Columba and Christianity in Scotland's medieval and modern history or see the puffins, shags and skua on Staffa or on the Treshnish Isles with their large seabird colonies. Or quietly take some time for the wildlife to arrive; on the coast you'll find otters, golden eagles, seals, dolphins and whales can all suddenly appear.
Our 4 spacious guest bedrooms are all en-suite, individually and tastefully decorated and simply furnished. Our emphasis is on providing guests with a good nights' sleep in a relaxed environment. Every room has tea/coffee making facilities, free wi-fi and complimentary toiletries. Your breakfast (and the occasional dinner) will be served in our conservatory dining room at our large, communal table. Drawing on a network of local producers, our menu reflects our commitment to the produce of Mull, Iona and Argyll. You will be spoilt for choice while enjoying our stunning view of the Sound of Iona.
Guests have a private lounge where there is a wide range of guides, maps and books on Iona, Mull and Scotland to help plan your visit as well as access to a fridge, TV and music centre. Feel free to wander in the garden or watch the sun-set over Iona, with a glass of wine in hand, from our decked area.
