Booking Information for 2020

Staffa House opens at the beginning of March and you can pre-book your stay between then and the end of October using our online booking system.  For those who prefer a personal touch, we are also happy to hear from you via email or telephone.  If you can't find what you need on the electronic system, then please do get in touch via email or telephone.  It is always worth asking, especially if you can be a little bit flexible on dates.  

We have a strict policy of two night minimum stays during our High Season - May, June, July and August - when demand for rooms is particularly high.  We offer a discount on longer stays (from 4 nights) to encourage guests to fully explore Mull and Iona and recommend that you book well in advance for May and June which are particularly popular.  For late availability please check back at the beginning of each month as we may have a cancellation or offer single night options.  During our Low Season (March and October) and Shoulder Season (April and September) we accept bookings for 1 night and provide discounts for 2 night stays or longer.

Winter bookings 2019 to 2020

We are now closed for electronic bookings for 2019 and have a full programme of renovations and maintenance planned for the winter months.  However, if you need accommodation then please get in touch via email or telephone so that we can discuss room availability and price. We find that Dinner, Bed and Breakfast packages work best in these months, when many food places are also closed.

Please note that we shut off web-bookings over the Winter months so you will have to check with us first – it’s when we get the chance to take a wee break too and we might not be here.


Unless you are booking at very short notice, we will always confirm a reservation in writing, by personal e-mail or letter, stating the type of room and tariff, together with some useful information prior to your stay.


For stays up to 3 nights:

In an update to the information provided on our electronic booking system, please note that for 2019 bookings there is no deposit required for stays of up to 3 nights.

The total cost of your stay is payable on departure either using a debit or credit card (we have a card machine which accepts Visa/Mastercard etc) or in cash. We cannot accept cheques. If you wish to pay in advance, then please get in touch with us; we can help you make an electronic payment at any time before your arrival.

Please do not send your card details as we do not need them to hold a reservation for you – an exchange of emails is enough.

For stays of 4 nights or longer then the full payment must be made via card payment or BACS payment up to 14 days before arrival. An invoice for this payment will be attached to your booking confirmation.



Please note that once your booking with us has been made and confirmed, this represents a contract between you and Staffa House. We strongly recommend that you have valid and appropriate holiday insurance to cover your holiday accommodation costs in the unfortunate event of you having to cancel your booking at short notice.

Should you need to cancel all or part of your booking, please let us know in writing (email is fine) as soon as possible. We reserve the right to charge the following cancellation fees:

  • Bookings cancelled up to 7 days prior to arrival date incur an administration charge of £20.00.
  • Bookings cancelled within the last 7 days of arrival date incur the full cost of the stay unless we are able to re-let the room(s) in which case an administration charge of £20.00 will be applied.
  • In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
